  • The LTPT shall meet biannually or more frequently as directed by the LTPT Chair or a majority of the members.  Seven members shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of conducting meetings.  Failure to attend three consecutive meetings is grounds for automatic removal from the committee.

Other Info

  • The Local Technology Planning Team (LTPT) was created in accordance with Section 288.9961(4)(b) Florida Statutes. The LTPT shall have the duty and responsibility to advise/make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners and staff in matters affecting the advancement of broadband service and infrastructure in Martin County.

    The LTPT shall:
    A.    Work with rural communities to help the communities understand their current broadband availability.
    B.    Locate unserved and underserved, as defined in Section 288.9961(2), businesses and residents.
    C.    Identify assets relevant to Broadband deployment.
    D.    Build partnerships with Broadband service providers.
    E.    Identify opportunities to leverage assets and reduce barriers to the deployment of broadband Internet services in the community.
     

  • The LTPT shall be comprised of 12 members.  Appointments are made by the Board of County Commissioners.  The membership is as follows:

    Martin County Administrator or designee
    Martin County Library Director or designee
    Martin County School District representative
    Martin County Health Care Provider representative
    Martin County Chamber of Commerce Representative
    Martin County Tourism Director or designee
    Business Development Board representative
    United Way of Martin County Representative
    City of Stuart Representative
    Martin County Park and Recreation Director or designee
    Local Broadband & Internet Service Provider representative
    Village of Indiantown representative

  • The term of each member shall be determined at the time of their appointment.  At the initial appointment to the LTPT, the terms of office of the members shall be for 4 years, except that three of the members first appointed shall be designated to serve terms of 1, 2, and 3 years, respectfully, from the date of their appointments, and all other members shall be designated to serve for terms of 4 years from the date of their appointments.  A vacancy occurring during a term shall be filled for the unexpired term.  Each member shall hold office until his or her successor has been appointed and has qualified.
